How does Beehiiv pricing change over time?
Beehiiv typically adjusts pricing 1-2 times per year, with smaller plan-feature changes more frequently. The free tier (up to 2,500 subscribers) has survived every restructure so far. The paid tiers have not: in early October 2026 Beehiiv replaced its Scale and Max plans with a new Lite and Pro lineup, and renamed the free Launch tier to Free. This page records what our daily scraper captured before and after that change, so you can see the trend before committing to an annual plan.

Why a Beehiiv pricing change history is worth bookmarking
Newsletter platforms restructure pricing roughly every 12-18 months. The cycle is predictable:

The first paid tier. It unlocks the money-making mechanics:
- Paid subscriptions with a 0% take rate: you keep the subscription revenue
- Ad monetization through the Beehiiv Ad Network

- Beehiiv MCP for connecting AI assistants to your publication
Lite covers lists up to 100,000 subscribers, so it replaces most of what Scale used to be for. The price climbs as your list grows, so check the slider on Beehiiv’s pricing page at your actual list size.

Enterprise — Contact sales
SSO / SAML, dedicated IPs, a customer success manager, concierge onboarding and custom rate limits. For media companies and large publishers; rarely the right fit for solo founders.
Annual vs monthly: how the savings work
At the default 1,000-subscriber setting:
- Lite annual: $49/mo × 12 = $588/year (vs $59 × 12 = $708 monthly)
- Pro annual: $95/mo × 12 = $1,140/year (vs $109 × 12 = $1,308 monthly)
So you save $120/year on Lite or $168/year on Pro by paying annually. Both figures grow with list size, because the plan price does.
The honest counterpoint: if you’re not sure you’ll stick with Beehiiv for a full year (you’re testing it against Substack/Kit), the $10-14/month flexibility of monthly billing is worth more than the annual discount. We recommend annual commits only after 60-90 days of sustained use.
How this tracker works
- Daily snapshot: A scheduled job loads Beehiiv’s pricing page in a headless browser, reads both the yearly and monthly price views, and stores every plan’s price in a database row keyed by date
- Change detection: When a price differs from the previous capture, a price change event is recorded with direction (increase / decrease / launch / discontinue) and old/new values. A plan that disappears from the page for several days is recorded as discontinued

Between 2026-10-02 and 2026-10-03 our scraper could not read the new page layout, so those two days have no capture. The change happened somewhere between the last old-lineup capture (2026-10-01) and the first new-lineup capture (2026-10-04).

For reference, public information about Beehiiv’s pricing trajectory before our tracker came online:
- 2022-2023: Beehiiv launched with a generous free tier and three paid tiers (Launch, Grow, Scale). Pricing was significantly lower than current Scale/Max equivalents.
- 2023-2024: Restructure to the Launch/Scale/Max/Enterprise hierarchy. Prices on the upper tiers increased to reflect the expanded feature set (Ad Network, Recommendations, Boosts).
- 2024-2025: Largely stable; minor adjustments to feature allocation per tier rather than headline price changes.
