Wispr Flow is one of the best-known apps in AI voice dictation: you speak into any text field, and the app returns cleaned-up prose with filler words removed and mid-sentence corrections applied. It runs on Mac, Windows, iOS and Android, supports 100+ languages, and learns the names and jargon you use through a personal dictionary and snippets.
The free plan is unusually transparent for this category. Its weekly word limits are published on the pricing page (2,000 words on desktop and 1,000 on mobile), so you can tell in advance whether you will outgrow it. Pro removes the word limit, and the same plan covers a single user or a team: there is no minimum seat count, and teammates can be invited without paying up front. Wispr Flow also lists a 50% education discount on Pro for students and educators with an education email, and discounted Pro for nonprofits.
Wispr Flow has recently added a Notetaker for meetings. It records on your device rather than sending a bot into the call, works with any meeting app or in person, and exposes notes to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools. The free plan includes limited Notetaker access with a weekly meeting cap; Pro keeps more meetings for longer. The Notetaker runs on Mac and Windows only for now.
For teams with compliance needs, the plan to look at is Growth rather than Pro. Growth adds SSO with SAML, org-wide HIPAA enforcement with a signed BAA, multiple domains, and admin control over model training. Enterprise adds SCIM provisioning, audit logs, managed deployment (MDM) and locks model training off. Wispr Flow states it is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified.
The main reasons to look elsewhere are platform and processing model. There is no Linux app, and dictation is processed in the cloud, so users who need fully offline transcription are better served by on-device tools. For a side-by-side with its closest competitor, see Typeless vs Wispr Flow.
